A Library with a Ladder

I am an actor. That is my day job. So I travel all over the country. Right now, I’m in Alaska on a five month (almost) contract, which is just about the longest I’ve lived anywhere in the last few years. I love traveling. I love seeing new places and meeting new people. My husband and I work together, which is very lucky for actors, and we have the best adventures.

The only thing that really bothers me about packing our lives into the car every few months is that I can’t have a proper library. I have my nook and can manage to sneak a few books into the car, but it’s still not a library. My dream is to have a library like Belle’s in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast but without the hairy man with anger issues as an attachment. I want seating for every mood. A table to read at if I’m feeling academic, an arm chair for mysteries, a fainting couch for romances, and a window seat for fantasy. And a ladder. I need a ladder that rolls around the room, allowing me access to the tallest shelves.

I’ll hang maps of the world on the walls so I can look at the places the books I read make me want to travel. I will have a mini fridge of snacks hidden in a beautifully carved wooden desk. And I will have a cat to keep me company.

I know it may seem like a lot, but a girl can dream. And what better place to dream than one where you are surrounded by books?
