Edits are officially done! The Tethering has been sent away to become a galley! How a galley works, I don’t really know yet, but I’ll be sure to tell you all once I’ve done it. I also received my copyright paperwork in the mail this week! I know I’ll have to update it once the galley is complete, but my book is protected. That is wonderful. And I’ve heard from my publicist. So many exciting things to start the New Year!
I’m excited to be moving on to the next step in publishing, but a strange (and psychotic) part of me is sad to be leaving edits behind. I spent so much time working on The Tethering, it seems like there is a void in my life where it used to be. A normal person may look at it as an expansion of free time, but I have chosen instead to devote all of my time to the sequel. No rest for the wicked, or crazy, or however that saying is supposed to go.
Soon, my publicist (it still feels funny that I have one of those) will begin helping me set up my social media and such in preparation for the big book launch! I have lots of social media, but the idea of learning how to really utilize it is a little intimidating. Does this mean my tweets are actually supposed to mean something? Is there a science to what pictures I’m supposed to post on my author Facebook page? I hope to be able to answer all of these questions and more soon! For now, I’m going to go back to Writing Land where I feel happiest. But stay tuned for a special guest blog later this week by the author of the Vision of Shadows series, Vincent Morrone.
